While it may take some time before ergonomic practices become standardized within the workplace it is important to educate yourself on what you can do now to avoid unnecessary pain and suffering.

Learn what you can do to avoid RSI’s.

As a Doctor and a Clinical Nutritionist, Dr. Stewart has been diligently researching and treating RSI’s (Repetitive Stress Injuries) for over 18 years. One thing that is universally understood and accepted is that the discipline of chiropractic care is working with and understanding body mechanics.

Chiropractors are most notably specialists in the fields of body mechanics, but not limited too. Dr. Stewart’s professional training and education which includes the as many credit hours in much the same areas of studies as a medical doctor with the exception of pharmacology. Those hours spent on pill dispensing are spent learning the proper body mechanics. The human body is an amazing machine and how we interact with other machines in the high tech world we’re living in has taken a toll on the body’s well being.

Learning to adapt to our high tech working and home environments will help to keep us well adjusted. Spinal adjustments are other notable practices in the field of chiropractic.

“Part of my practice is focusing on ways to help and assist my patients in adapting to their changing environments. In treating my patients who suffer from work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WWSD’s) I was inspired to invent a device which would help relieve stress and support proper working body mechanics. Through much trial and error, my brother and I have been able to invent, design and implement a very easy to use device that will support and drastically reduce stress on the body of the worker. We call it the ‘Lap-Stop’ and we are pleased with our test market results,” said Dr. Stewart.

The prototype was developed by the Swanson Institute for Product Innovation, University of Pittsburgh.

In addition, as part of this growing problem, we have formed Prevention Inventions, LLC. A company formed to call attention to the need for ergonomics and to educate the marketplace about ergonomics not only in the workplace, but in our everyday lives.

Prevention Inventions will encourage research and development of new produces, systems, and environments that will help all of use prevent RSI’s.

And most importantly, end unnecessary pain, future health problems and the loss of productivity in our workplace.
